Yes, yummyness is a word. ;)
The other day the most fabulous yarn reached my doorstep. Remember these hanks? Yes I know, I’ve gotten so many lovely yarns over the past few weeks! But this batch is all for me. This is for my ‘sit down, relax and unwind’ project :)

I’m making the South Bay Shawlette (free pattern on Ravelry). Look at those gorgeous stitches! And they work fabuloulsy with my variegated yarn.

This amazing yarn is 100% organic merino, and it’s hand dyed by the lovely Devon Sun Yarns. She made an extra skein for me in a solid colour; I’m hoping to use that as the border.
A project as special and perfect as this merits a special project bag, so I’m keeping it in my first ever knitted bag. It has sparkles, so that makes it extra special ;)

Do you have any projects that you keep around just to make yourself happy? :)

I am going to make my first ever baby booties- however I just knitted my first ever scarf- I may need some help- do you have a simple pattern for newborn baby socks, and perhaps a simple hat. I will need the sizes of needles(and what they look like) and the size of yarn( and what it looks like)- if you have any relevant information- and a bit of time I would really appreciate it. Thank you- Laura

I always like to have a simple knitting or crochet project going for when I want to keep my hands busy, but have a brain that is too tired to concentrate.
The yarn is gorgeous and I’m sure the shawl will be lovely. Is it for you or are you going to give it to someone?

Hey Sandra, you can find the pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/south-bay-shawlette
Unfortunately, there’s no step-by-step photo tutorial available for this pattern. But the chart is really easy and once you get the hang of it you’ll have it finished in no-time! :)
