By now I’m sure you’re wondering what I made from my amazing Knit Collage yarn, right? :)
I already announced it on my Facebook page; I made a headband!
I used Tunisian crochet for this headband, because I love the texture it creates! To make this headband, I started with 10 chains, ending up with 9 stitches. With the Tunisian simple stitch (tss), I worked it for about 40 rows, until it fit around my head. I then joined the bottom and top together with a big darning needle, and that’s all there is to it! :)
I love using this as a wrap for my dreads; it’s very soft and snuggly, and really really warm, too ;) This headband will definitely get a lot of wear this Winter!
Unfortunately my dreads have to come out again next week, because my own hair needs some time to heal. I’ve had my synthetic dreads for well over two months now, but I sure am sad to see them go! Thankfully, I can get them braided back in again in a few weeks. One of the benefits of having synthetic dreads :)
xo,
wink

I just really love the colour of that yarn!! It looks so good against the colour of your dreads!, something’s special, I think. Pity they have to come off but I do hope you are able to get them woven back in! Joan

Definitely glad you chose green as it looks great with your dreads, like someone else said the brown would have been nice but not the same impact as the green is!

I love the colors of your dreads! The headband is a great way to use such cute, novelty yarn. Brilliant!

The headband is absolutely gorgeous – and something my daughter would love, too, as the yarn would appeal, and the first things I ever crocheted were headbands to hold back her dreads! Lol

Your headband is a lovely way to show off all of the little bits and pieces that have been woven into the yarns. I popped over to their website following your earlier post. Fortunately they’re a little too pricey for me at present, if I had the money I’m not sure how I would choose which one to buy! They’ve gone onto my wish list anyway :-)
Does your hair need to heal because of the weight of the dreads? My hair is really thin, but I’d not thought about adding in some via braiding before . I’m not sure it would be worth it if it can damage your hair though. Your dreads look fab by the way โโกโ

It’s beautiful! And so are you! I love the dreads. But I’ve said that before!

Love your head band, the yarn is so gorgeous! Neat dreads too :) A few years ago I spent a whole day putting in real dreads in my daughters hair. A few weeks later she changed her mind and I spent another several hours combing them out! LOL…
