weekly mandala – week 16: overlay mandala

Hello! :)

This week’s mandala is an obvious choice for me; my craft space has been overtaken by overlay mandalas because of the CAL, and since I have been busy making those I thought I would showcase the first one I finished.

Cool huh? On this side you can really see what colours I used in each round, where they are obscured by other rounds on the front.

The mandala came out really big; around 37cms/14,5″ in diameter! I have to press/block this one because it ruffles a little.

Because this one came out so large, I am making another one with thin cotton yarn from Catania, Limone and Phildar, using a 2,5mm hook. Definitely a first for me, working with such a small hook size! But the stitches come out looking so delicate and tiny, I love the look of it all. I really want to make more items with those brands of cotton!
