a scrappy xmas!

Hi everyone! :)

I made a little something the other day and I thought it would be fun to share since it’s very easy to make; a scrappy Christmas tree! :)

What you need:
- pins
- tiny bells
- buttons
- really any embellishment you can think of
supplies

- some fabric cut into strips; a couple 1″ wide, others half an inch wide
strips

- and a styrofoam cone insert (not pictured)! :)

Start covering the styrofoam by pinning strips of fabric to it. Let them cascade in the back and pin them in place, like this:

Using more pins, decorate your tree! :) Pin buttons, bells and other embellishments to it. And you’re done! It’s that easy :)

The best thing about this is that when Christmas is over, you can take all your pins out and reuse them, as well as the buttons, bells and fabric strips.

Using some of the same fabrics, I made another bible cover for a customer the other day, and another one for her sister’s Bible:

I had never tried patchwork before, and as you can see, I clearly need a little more practice… ;) But I kind of like the mismatched lines! :)

Her sister loves music (and God), so this seemed appropriate for her Bible! :) I loved to do the stitching, it was also a first for me! (unfortunately my sewing machine decided to throw a fit at the end, as showcased by the horrible stitches at the bottom left of the cover… I re-did them three times until I gave up!)

Thanks for visting today; I’m off to a birthday party! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, and head over to Crochet Concupiscence for a change to win two of my mini patterns! :)

xo,
wink
